Movers & Shakers — April 2, 2007

VantisLife Insurance Co. in East Hartford appointed Wilmer Little national new business development manager. Previously, Little was a retirement specialist at Phoenix Life and a senior wholesaler for Symetra Financial.

The following people were appointed these positions at Hartford Federal Credit Union: Candace Nicholson, marketing manager; John Riley, vice president of operations; and Timothy Little, branch manager, downtown Hartford branch.

The Hartford Wolf Pack named Dr. Brett Wasserlauf head team physician. Wasserlauf has a private orthopedic practice in Bloomfield.

The Real Estate Exchange elected Diana MacPherson vice president. Currently, MacPherson is a real estate lawyer at Robinson & Cole.

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford made the following appointments: Dr. Varalakshmi Venkatachalam will serve as an academic hospitalist, specializing in inpatient care. Venkatachalam will also practice as a member of Woodland Physician Associates. Dr. Joseph C. Sala joined the medical and dental staff at the hospital and will practice as a member of Radiology Associates of Hartford.

David M. S. Shaiken was elected to the American Arbitration Association’s National Panel of Employee Benefits Arbitrators. Shaiken is currently an attorney at Reid and Reige, concentrating on business litigation, commercial, administrative, fiduciary and ERISA matters.

The Connecticut Quality Council elected Gary Burke to its board of governors. Currently, Burke is a continuous quality improvement facilitator at MidState Medical Center.

Stacey Earnest was appointed director of sales for the DoubleTree Bradley International Airport Hotel. Most recently, Earnest was director of sales at the Holiday Inn Downtown in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Timothy J. Dupuis was promoted to vice president at CDM in Wethersfield. Previously, Dupuis was principal.

Raymond P. Necci was named board chair of the United Way of the Capital Area. Currently, Necci is president and chief operating officer of CL&P and Yankee Gas, Northeast Utilities Systems. He has been on the United Way board since 2005.

William Wrinn joined Knoll Inc. in Hartford as a manufacturer’s representative. He will cover the western Massachusetts and Connecticut markets.

Dr. John W. Rodgers was elected president of the medical and dental staff at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Previously, Rodgers was vice president of the staff. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, board certified in internal and pulmonary medicine and a member of the American Medical Association, the Connecticut State Medical Society and the Hartford County Medical Association.
