TD Bank has promoted Maureen E. Hanley-Bellitto to regional vice president for Fairfield County. She is responsible for managing a commercial lending team and overseeing a 21-store network across the region. Hanley-Bellitto, who has 16 years of experience in banking and lending, joined TD Bank in 2006 as a commercial lender focused on real estate in the Fairfield market. Prior to joining TD Bank, she served as a vice president in both commercial and construction lending during a 13-year stint at Ridgefield Bank in Ridgefield, receiving multiple best seller and sales leadership awards.

Emmy Award winning TV journalist, author and documentary producer Diane Smith received the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Culture and Tourism for her outstanding lifetime achievements and contributions to the arts and tourism in Connecticut. Also honored with Governor’s Awards was Barkley L. Hendricks, New London, visual artist and Professor of Art at Connecticut College; Connecticut Humanities Council, Middletown, the state’s affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities; and ESPN, Bristol, the 24-hour, multinational sports broadcasting network and leader in digital media and technology.

Wiggin and Dana announced that health care partner Michelle Wilcox DeBarge was recently appointed to the legal and policy subcommittee of The Health Information Technology and Exchange Advisory Committee. The committee provides advice to the state Department of Public Health, the state’s lead health information exchange organization, on development and implementation of the state’s health information technology plan.

Loni S. Gardner, an associate in Murtha Cullina’s environmental, energy and land use practice groups, has been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt German Chancellor Fellowship for Prospective Leaders. This prestigious fellowship allows scholars and scientists to work for a year in Germany on a research project of their choice and is awarded only to those with superior academic and professional achievements. Only 10 fellowships are awarded each year to prospective leaders from the U.S.

Achieve Hartford! announced the addition of two new board members: Theodore Sergi and Julie Dillman. Sergi has spent 40 years in public service. As part of a 30-year career at the Connecticut State Department of Education, he was named commissioner in 1994 and served in that capacity for 10 years. Following that he was founding CEO and president of the Connecticut Science Center. Dillman is senior vice president, personal insurance platform and experience office with The Travelers. She joined Travelers in 1996 as part of the Aetna merger; prior to joining Aetna, she began her insurance career with Global Insurance Managers.

Emily A. Gianquinto has joined Reid and Riege as an associate in the litigation department in the firm’s Hartford office, where her practice focuses on commercial litigation and the resolution of general business disputes. Gianquinto has experience with complex contractual disputes, international arbitration, environmental litigation, disputes involving fiduciary duties of shareholders and business dissolutions, litigation arising out of fraudulent transfers, and insurance litigation. Prior to entering private practice, Gianquinto served as a judicial clerk for Justice Flemming L. Norcott, Jr. of the Connecticut Supreme Court. Before obtaining her law degree, she worked as a technical editor in the pharmaceutical industry.

Glandina (Dina) Morris has joined Cambridge College — Springfield as an admissions counselor. Prior to joining Cambridge College, she served as the acting director of communications for Boundless Playgrounds, a national non-profit organization previously headquartered in Hartford. In her new position at Cambridge College, she will develop new strategies for education and outreach for the undergraduate and master of management programs. She received her bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Hartford.
