Scott Esposito has joined Horton International LLC as managing director in the firm’s West Hartford office. He will conduct executive-level searches in the industrial / manufacturing segments as well as other general management roles. Prior to joining Horton International, Esposito served as vice president, human resources for United Technologies Corp.’s Pratt & Whitney division. He has held professional, management and executive roles in program engineering, finance and human resources at UTC’s Sikorsky Aircraft and Hamilton Sundstrand divisions. He was vice president, human resources, for ADVO Inc. (now Valassis), the nation’s leading direct mail marketing company, and also owned and managed HR Solutions LLC, a human resources consulting company based in Keene, N.H.

Heather Baker has been brought on as senior account executive at Cashman + Katz in Glastonbury. Baker has a background in marketing and advertising on both the corporate and agency side. Her specialty is in casino, entertainment, and real estate, with clients including Mandalay Bay Casino, Edgewater Hotel and Casino, and Aldi Development. Prior to joining Cashman + Katz, she was an account manager at Martino and Binzer Advertising and Marketing in Avon.

Scott Ellner, D.O., M.P.H., of West Hartford, has been named director of surgical quality at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. In this newly-created position, Dr. Ellner will have direct oversight of all quality databases and performance improvement programs within Saint Francis’ Department of Surgery. Dr. Ellner is board certified in surgery and advanced trauma life support. He holds appointments as an assistant professor of surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Ellner has served as Saint Francis’ surgeon champion for the National Surgical Quality Improvement Project for the past three years and is a co-founder of the Connecticut Surgical Quality Collaborative.
Also at Saint Francis, Madhuri Devabhaktuni, M.D., of Newington, has joined the medical staff. After service as a junior resident in India, she served as a research physician at Saint Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, New York, and completed a residency in internal medicine in Saint Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Devabhaktuni is board certified in internal medicine. She is the author or co-author of eight papers and poster presentations delivered at national meetings. Dr. Devabhaktuni is practicing at Saint Francis as a hospitalist with the Saint Francis Medical Group Inc.

Tracy Fox of Torrington has been promoted to director of business development for ForeSite Technologies. In a difficult economy, her sales efforts led to a 22 percent growth in ForeSite’s business in 2009. She will be responsible for growing the sales team and mentoring her staff.
Also at ForeSite, Jonathan Zawrotny of Glastonbury has been promoted to director of production. After growing the web development team over the past two years, he will now work to improve service offerings to clients in both web development and network infrastructure support. ForeSite has offices in East Hartford and in Worcester, Mass.

Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity welcomed four new members to its board of directors at the annual business meeting: Matthew W. Cooper, a financial advisor working with Merrill Lynch out of Farmington; Lucy Hurston, an author, researcher and sociology professor at Manchester Community College in Manchester; Sallie Toussaint, an entrepreneur and former model who has held the titles of Miss Connecticut and Miss USA World; and, Scott Orsey, an operations and finance management professional.

Thomas P. Meehan, chief medical officer at Qualidigm in Rocky Hill, has been named a fellow of the American College of Medical Quality in recognition of ongoing scholarship and research in the field. Dr. Meehan’s main area of professional interest is in developing effective methods to measure and improve the quality of health care. ACMQ is an international physician membership society dedicated to the best practices and principles of medical quality management. Dr. Meehan is a resident of Southington and also serves as associate clinical professor at Yale Medical School.
