Commercial real estate broker CB Richard Ellis has hired retail investment sales brokers Jim Koury and Nat Heald. Koury is a 20-plus year veteran of the business and was the first broker in the Northeast to focus exclusively on retail sales. He has sold over $3 billion of property in his career. Koury joined CBRE as an

executive vice president. Heald has worked with Koury for the past five years and has been involved in the sale of nearly $2 billion of retail property throughout the country. Heald joins CBRE as a vice president. Koury and Held were most recently with Jones Lang LaSalle, where Koury was national director of retail sales.

The Urban League of Greater Hartford has named Adrienne Cochrane as its new president and CEO. She has been the chief program officer for the Urban League of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., where she managed 15 community programs and a staff of 45. Previously, she was chief operating officer with the Quad County Urban League in Aurora, Ill. She holds bachelor and master’s degrees from Tuskegee University in Alabama and a doctorate from the Saint University School of Law. Cochrane will take over the Hartford position Sept. 7. The Urban League of Greater Hartford was founded in 1964 and has grown into one of the largest direct social service agencies in New England.

Charles LeConche, business manager for the Connecticut Laborers’ District Council, has been appointed a member on the newly established Connecticut Competitiveness Council. Administered by the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD), the 18-member council will recommend ways to promote the state’s competitiveness and produce its first report by Jan. 1, 2011. LeConche’s term is effective Oct. 1 and expires on Sept. 30, 2014. The Connecticut Laborers’ District Council represents approximately 7,500 members employed in the construction industry, public sector and other building and trade fields throughout the state.

Co-Communications, a public relations and marketing firm, has promoted Danielle M. Cyr to senior account manager. She is a graduate of the University of Hartford and joined Co-Communications in 2008 as an account coordinator. Cyr has contributed to several campaigns that have been recognized with Big W Awards from the Ad Club of Westchester and Mercury Awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). In her new role, Cyr will have the added responsibility of managing staff and planning strategic campaigns.

John Antosik has joined the sales team at Controlled Air in Branford. He brings more than 15 years of experience within the mechanical trades with extensive skills in company management, design and the installation of HVAC systems, Cogeneration applications, and engineering including fuel cells and micro-turbines. His last position was at Harrington Engineering in Rocky Hill where he handled business development, project sales and design. He attended the University of Hartford and previously owned an HVAC company.

Patricia B. Dunn and Anita Hamzy have joined the Main Street Community Foundation’s board of directors. Dunn has served on both the scholarship and distribution committees and currently chairs the Women & Girls’ Fund advisory board. She is a member of the board of directors for Bread for Life in Southington, a committee member and founder of Leading Ladies of Southington, a committee member of the Dorothy Hammil Women Fore Women Golf Tournament benefiting St. Mary’s Hospital and a volunteer at Jane Doe No More in Waterbury. Prior to her commitment as full-time community volunteer, she was director of development at the Southington Community YMCA and the finance director for the Connecticut Republicans. Hamzy works as a paralegal at the Hamzy Law Firm, LLC in Bristol. She serves as co-chair of the foundation’s distribution committee and a member of the 15th anniversary event committee.
