Michael Lombardi, formerly vice president of design and construction, was promoted to president of Centerplan Construction. Lombardi will be providing an overall strategic direction for the construction company, combined with leading execution on all construction projects. Lombardi is a professional engineer with more than 15 years of experience in the design and construction of all types of land development and infrastructure projects.
The New England Biotech Association (NEBA) elected Paul Pescatello president of the organization at its annual meeting. Pescatello has been a member of NEBA’s board since the group’s founding. One of the priorities for the coming year will focus on education of the next generation of biotech workers.
J.H. Cohn LLP, one of the top 15 accounting and consulting firms in the United States, has announced the admission of Mathew S. Krukoski, CPA, to the firm’s partnership. Krukoski is an audit partner in the firm’s Glastonbury office. He has more than 15 years of experience providing financial planning, tax compliance, accounting, and auditing services. He is a member of the Hartford chapter of the Worldwide Employee Benefits Network, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Tele-Consult Associates of West Suffield has hired Melinda Plourde as an account manager. Plourde has been a sales consultant for ReminderMedia in Vernon for the past four years. Plourde graduated with a B.A in communications from UConn.
FM Facility Maintenance has appointed Michael Hyman as senior vice president, chief business development officer and Jay Leyden as senior vice president, chief sales and marketing officer. Hyman recently served as senior vice president, chief of sales and marketing. In his new position, Hyman’s initial focus will be on integrating and providing energy solutions into FM Facility Maintenance’s current service offerings. Leyden will be responsible for developing FM’s growing sales teams and new growth strategies with emphasis on marketing and communications. He has more than 30 years of sales experience and most recently was the top sales and marketing officer at Allied Waste.
Lisa Ratcliff of South Windsor has been named the executive director of the North Central Connecticut/Western Massachusetts Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. For the past five years, she was senior director of strategic alliances for Boundless Playgrounds Inc., a national organization based in Hartford, dedicated to building inclusive playgrounds. She managed both the corporate relations and grant implementation programs, including a $3 million cause marketing partnership with CVS Caremark Charitable Trust.Â
The Law Offices of Carter Mario Injury Lawyers announced the addition of Christopher Dellaselva to the firm’s staff of attorneys. Dellaselva will serve in the firm’s New Britain office as the pre-litigation attorney. Dellaselva comes to the firm from the Law Offices of Kevin W. Finch in Milford, where he was a partner.
STR Holdings of Enfield has appointed Charles G. Reid to the newly created post of chief technology officer where he will lead STR’s development and commercialization of encapsulants for the photovoltaic solar panel industry. Reid will assume management responsibility for STR’s technology group, including research and development and will report to Robert S. Yorgensen, president-STR Solar. Reid, 48, holds a doctorate and has more than 20 years of experience in polymer science. Most recently, he was a principal at Manzanita Consulting LLC, a company focused on polymer application science.
BVH Integrated Services Inc. of Bloomfield announced the promotion of Scott Waitkus to project manager. Waitkus will lead the firm’s civil engineering design teams and coordinate production, schedule, and project approvals. He will serve as clients’ day-to-day project contact. Waitkus has nearly 25 years of construction industry experience and has been with BVH since 1999, serving as senior civil engineer.
Jeffrey B Coppage has been appointed manager of estate and business planning at Robert Hensley & Associates, LLC, in Avon. Cooperage had been vice president, life insurance advanced planning for MetLife in Bloomfield. Also, Robert W. Hensley has been appointed brokerage marketing assistant at the firm. Hensley graduate from the Gabelli School of Business at Roger Williams University.
The Connecticut/Westchester chapter of CoreNet Global has named Peter Olson co-chair. Olson, who heads up Real Estate Solutions, a Connecticut consulting practice, succeeds Karen Odlum, real estate strategist at Aetna in Hartford, who was co-chair from 2006 to 2009. Maureen Fahy, vice president, global real estate, at Pitney Bowes in Stamford, is the chapter’s other co-chair.
Doreen Downham has become executive director of the SBM Charitable Foundation with the retirement of Sheila B. Flanagan who held the position since the foundation’ began in 2000. Downham has been at the foundation for the past six years as the associate executive director after 18 years at the former Savings Bank of Manchester, most recently in the president’s office.
