Sharon O’Reilly Rozum has joined the Hartford Business Journal as advertising director. She spent 18 years with Entertainment Publications, formerly the world’s leading marketer of coupon books. There, Rozum was the director of sales and regional business manager for the Northeast. In this new position, Rozum will aid the sales team in increasing customer service and driving revenue.

Daniel Ostrow, owner of Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy of Middletown, is the new chairman of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce’s Central Business Bureau. Ostrow has served the bureau for seven years and his business has been a part of downtown Middletown for 20 years. He has served as the business’ owner for the past three years. The announcement was made by Trevor Davis, outgoing chairman of the bureau.

Eliot M. Weissberg, a certified financial planner, certified fund specialist and financial advisor at the Avon office of Raymond James Financial Services, Inc., has been named to Fidelity Investments 2010 Advisor Council. The selection recognizes his efforts in providing outstanding value, commitment and service to the investing public. Weissberg, who joined Raymond James in 1999, has more than 30 years of financial and investment experience.

Carolyn Malon, a general practice dentist in Farmington, has been named vice president of the Connecticut State Dental Association. She will serve a one-year term. Dr. Malon has been a member of Hartford Dental Society Board of Directors since 2003 and served one year as president. She has been involved in several volunteer programs, including the annual CSDA Give Kidsa Smile event, CT Mission of Mercy and Donated Dental Services. Dr. Malon opened her Farmington dental office with her husband, Dr. Stephen Moran, in 2002 after practicing in New Britain for 13 years.

Bay Path College has named Melissa Morriss-Olson of West Hartford as its new provost and vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Morriss-Olson, who has been serving as dean of Bay Path’s Graduate School and director of the master of science in nonprofit management and philanthropy program, will assume her new role and responsibilities in August. As provost, she will administer all Bay Path academic and enrollment programs, ensuring continued growth of the College. Morriss-Olson joined Bay Path nearly five years ago as founding director of Bay Path’s graduate programs in nonprofit management and strategic fundraising and philanthropy. Morriss-Olson has over 30 years of higher education administration experience, including having served in numerous senior-level positions at North Park University in Chicago.
