Wayne Rustin has been named vice president of human resources for Comcast’s Western New England Region, which includes Connecticut, Western Massachusetts, New York and Vermont. In this role, Rustin will oversee staffing, recruiting, payroll, employee relations, internal communications, benefits and training through Comcast University, the company’s internal training and leadership development program. Rustin has held senior HR leadership positions with IBM, JC Penney and, most recently, was chief human capital officer for New York City. He also is a lawyer and has served as senior attorney to the National Labor Relations Board in Fort Worth, Texas; as a Municipal Court judge for the city of Fort Worth; and as an adjunct professor at the University of Dallas School of Management.

Denis Horrigan has been named a partner at Connecticut Wealth Management LLC in Farmington. Horrigan had been the firm’s director, overseeing the marketing and client services teams in addition to his duties as financial advisor.

He also has worked for Fidelity Investments and St. Germain Investment Management. In 2007, he was selected as one of the “40 under 40” by the Hartford Business Journal.

Mashantucket Pequot Gaming Enterprises has named two vice presidents at its Foxwoods resort and casino. Joseph Albanese has been promoted to vice president of food and beverage. He joined Foxwoods in 2008 as director of beverage operations and last year was promoted to acting vice president of food and beverage. Albanese served as director of beverage operations for Gaylord Entertainment Co. in Nashville; director of beverage operations for Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas; and director of beverage operations for MGM Mirage in Las Vegas. He received his sommelier training from the Court of Master Sommeliers. Also, Frank Leone has been named vice president, table games. Prior to joining Foxwoods, Leone served as casino manager at Trump Taj Mahal Hotel Casino in Atlantic City. He also spent more than 20 years at Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. where he was an assistant casino shift manager at Caesars Atlantic City.

Frogard Ryan has been named executive director of The Nature Conservancy in Connecticut. She trained as a veterinarian, following in the footsteps of a grandfather in her native Germany. She worked in that capacity at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs before broadening her work to conserving the grasslands, forests and fresh water. Ryan joined The Nature Conservancy in 2004. She has led complex conservation efforts in Colorado, and brings that experience to the Conservancy’s cross-border work in the Connecticut River watershed and along Long Island Sound.

Jane Kralik, chief financial officer and stockholder at Steffian Bradley Architects, has been elected to the position of president of the board by the Design Professionals Risk Control Group, a risk purchasing group organized to improve practice and risk management in the design industry. It is a two-year term. The global firm has offices in Enfield.

Hartford Hospital has added three new physicians to its staff. Chike Chukwumah is a general surgeon, specializing in minimally-invasive thoracoabdominal procedures and complex hernia repairs. Helen Corbett is a breast surgeon, who comes to Connecticut from Foundation Medical Partners in Nashua, N.H., where she specialized in breast, thyroid and parathyroid surgery. David Curtis is a hepatobiliary and foregut surgical specialist. He performs complex surgical procedures in a variety of areas, including the esophagus, stomach, pancreas, spleen and liver.

Alexander Sperduti has been named CEO of MicroDyne Techologies in Plainville. He had been operations director, heading the motion control division of the engineering services division for the last several years. Sperduti will continue to lead both divisions statewide and nationally as CEO focusing on the integrated financial and manufacturing services, quality control and customer service of the privately-held manufacturing company. Sperduti is a former CNC development manager at BHS-Torin Inc. MicroDyne is the inventor and creator of one of the largest collection of micro machines and tools for ongoing R&D and production requirements.

Beacon Light & Supply Co. has promoted Robert Halligan to director of operations. Halligan has been with the company since 2006 when he became information technology systems manager. He will continue to manage the company’s IT systems. Prior to joining Beacon, he served as the IT manager at Chef’s Equipment Emporium in Wallingford. Also, Steven Zullo has been promoted to director of accounting. Zullo joined Beacon in 2009. He was the controller for a mechanical and general contractor in the New Haven area since 1993.He has served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of West Haven since 2001 and was an economic development commissioner for the City of West Haven from 1995 to 2001.

Kimberly DeMartino and Danielle Morfi have joined the strategic planning/client service team at Response Marketing in New Haven. DeMartino, who will be a senior account manager, has been a managing director at Catapult Group. She also has worked at Marketing Drive Worldwide as a client supervisor. Morfi, who will be an account manager, had been a brand manager for Agilent Technologies at PARTNERS+simons in Boston. She also has worked at Small Army Inc. as an account executive.
