Cheryl Gagne has been promoted to regional operations manager at GEI Consultants Inc. She is based in the firm’s Hartford office where she has been the office manager for the Atlantic region, managing the day-to-day operations of nine offices. In addition, she provides project financial management for some of GEI’s major Atlantic-region clients. GEI’s multi-disciplined team of engineers and scientists has provided a broad range of consulting and engineering services on over 25,000 projects in 50 states and 22 countries.

Kathy Smith has joined Radiology Associates of Hartford PC as practice administrator. She will oversee daily operations at the diagnostic imaging serviceˆs three locations in Avon, Enfield and Glastonbury. Smith served as assistant director of radiology and imaging at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center for nearly 11 years. She also served as account manager at MedImaging Technology in Wilmington, Mass., and as assistant director of radiology at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester.

Hamid Malakpour has been promoted to vice president/Connecticut business development officer at TD Bank. He will be based in Wilton. Dr. Malakpour joined TD Bank in 2007 as a vice president/retail market manager after serving in a similar role at People’s United Bank in Bridgeport. He serves as Chairman of the Board of the Stamford Chamber of Commerce. For the past 20 years, he has served as an adjunct professor at various universities in Connecticut, teaching courses on subjects including business ethics, entrepreneurship, economics, investment analysis, management theories and commercial and residential lending.

Ricardo Taboada has joined Hartford Hospital’s Pain Treatment Center in West Hartford as an anesthesiologist specializing in pain management. He is a graduate of the medical school at Universidad Central Del Caribe, completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine and a fellowship in pain management at Tufts University School of Medicine/Baystate Medical Center.

His area of focus includes financial reimbursement, operations and compliance matters for various healthcare providers. He is the firm’s National Healthcare Industry Leader and has over 20 years of healthcare financial consulting experience. Bavolack joined the firm in 1997 and is based in the New Haven office. Heather B. Bearfield has been named principal in the assurance services group. Bearfield, who joined the firm in 2004, is the National Technology Assurance Services Leader and resides in the Boston office.

Carla Hill has been hired as the assistant curator and interim registrar at The William Benton Museum of Art at the University of Connecticut in Storrs. Hill earned a master of arts in art history from the University of Connecticut and also holds a technical degree in painting restoration from the Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro, Florence, Italy.

Frances G. Padilla has been named executive vice president at the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut. She had been vice president for programs, policy and administration at the Meriden-based organization. Prior to joining the foundation in 2004 as the director of programs, she headed up New Paradigms Consulting. She began her career in philanthropy as a program officer at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving and later held positions at the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven. Also, Linda Dahlmeyer has been promoted from director of finance and administration to vice president for finance and administration. Dahlmeyer, a certified public accountant, served as associate director of administration and finance for Connecticut Conference of Municipalities and Connecticut Interlocal Risk Management Agency. Jill Zorn has been promoted from program officer to senior program officer responsible for analyzing state and federal health policy trends.

Stu Gorlick has been named vice president/market manger for Cumulus Media Inc. in Danbury. He oversees radio stations WRKI-FM, WDBY-FM, WINE-AM and WPUT-FM. Gorlick is had been vice president of sales for the Hudson Valley stations owned by Cumulus. Prior to joining Cumulus in April 2010, Gorlick’s background included seven years in sales management at Cox Radio in Connecticut and seven years in sales and sales management at WFAN-AM in New York.

Paul Dellaripa has joined Velocity Print Solutions as an account executive. He has more than 26 years of experience in the print and direct mail industry and most recently was with Wolf ColorPrint. He will be servicing customers in Connecticut, western Massachusetts and the New York City metro area. Velocity Print Solutions has offices in Middlebury as well as in Boston and in Albany, N.Y.

Laurie Krause has joined Simsbury Bank as vice president, consumer and mortgage operations officer. She moves from her own Simsbury-based business, First Bankers Mortgage Co. In addition to her years of experience in mortgage lending, including tenures with Bank of America and Centerbank, Krause has served nine years as chairman of the affordable housing committee of the Connecticut Mortgage Bankers Association and 12 years as secretary of the Young Mortgage Bankers Association committee.

For the past four years, he has been project manager on numerous multi-discipline projects for both the public and private sector. He has worked in sustainable building design and construction practices, and has focused on alternative energy and energy efficiency projects. His specific area of expertise is electrical engineering. He will split time between the Manchester firm’s offices in Boston and Providence.
