The Connecticut Health Foundation has selected 18 individuals to participate in its fourth annual Health Leadership Fellows Class. Those from Greater Hartford are: Janier Cabán-Hernández, director, AIDS Legal Network; Desiree Díaz, clinical resource lab coordinator, UConn School of Nursing; Pedro Gonzales, training and technical assistance coordinator, The Multicultural Leadership Institute; Violete O. Haldane, benefit analyst, manager, CIGNA; Yvette Highsmith-Francis, director, Hartford County Sites, Community Health Center, Inc.; Gloria Francesca Mengual, program director, Everyday Democracy; Jeffrey Shaw, legislative aide, state House of Representatives; Margaret Steinegger-Keyser, executive director, Greater Hartford Interfaith Coalition for Equity and Justice; Donald P. Tutson Jr., J.D., attorney at law, Office of Donald Tutson Jr.; and Patricia J. Wrice, executive director, Operation Fuel.

Jennifer Singer has been promoted to an assistant vice president, branch officer for Rockville Bank. Singer manages the bank’s office at 12 Main St. in Ellington where she was formerly branch manager.

Reid and Riege has announced the addition of three new stockholders to the law firm: Kevin G. Ferrigno, Carol L. Loomis and Christopher J. Rixon. They join the corporations and business organizations practice area in the firm’s Hartford office. Ferrigno and Loomis joined the firm from Tyler, Cooper & Alcorn. Most recently, Rixon managed his own boutique real estate development firm.

Dr. Allison Cowl was hired as a physician in the division of pediatric critical care at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Cowl was most recently an attending physician in the pediatric intensive care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Tina Bisson has joined the South Windsor office of Prudential Connecticut Realty as a sales executive. Bisson brings five years of leasing and property management experience to her new post, having been a leasing director for The Pavilions, a 932-unit apartment community in Manchester, and property manager for Trumbull on the Park, a 100-unit mixed used development in Hartford.

Dr. Amy H. Martin of Simsbury has joined the medical staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Following her residency training, Martin served as lieutenant commander in the United States Navy and completed military staff appointments in radiology. At Saint Francis, she will practice as a member of Radiology Associates of Hartford, P.C., Hartford. Most recently, Martin served as a staff radiologist at Straub Clinic and Hospital, Honolulu.

Dr. David S. Shapiro of West Hartford, has been named associate director of trauma and critical care at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. He comes to Saint Francis from Oregon Health and Science University, Department of Surgery, Portland, Ore. Shapiro will practice as a member of Woodland Physician Associates, Inc. in Hartford.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has announced the addition of Nuala Griffin, Chuck Cusson and Lindsay Ryan to the company’s Avon office, located at 300 West Main St. All three were previously at Prudential Connecticut Realty in Avon. Griffin has 25 years experience in Connecticut real estate. Cusson has been a real estate agent for six years, while Ryan has been a licensed Realtor for four years.

Farmington-based accounting and consulting firm Kosovsky, Pratesi & Company LLC and affiliate financial planning firm Horizon Financial Advisors LLC have added John P. Backiel of West Hartford to the firms’ accounting and financial planning teams. Backiel was most recently working as a senior accountant and financial planner for CCR LLP, a Boston accounting firm.

The law firm of Halloran & Sage LLP has announced that attorneys Joanna Czekajewski, Margaret Doherty, Gerald Giaimo, Victoria Metaxas and Jeffrey Phelon have joined the firm. Czekajewski joins as an associate while the rest join as counsel to the firm. Czekajewski most recently was at Sandak, Hennessey & Greco LLP. Phelon was an attorney at the Law Office of Cynthia Jaworski. Metaxas was most recently an attorney with Zurich Insurance. Giaimo joined the firm from Bershtein, Volpe & McKeon. Doherty comes from Jackson Lewis where she was an attorney.

Kaman Corp. announced three executive appointments within its Kaman Aerospace Group: Richard C. Forsberg, vice president, contracts management; Nancy A. L’Esperance, vice president, human resources; and Alphonse J. Lariviere, vice president, finance. Forsberg most recently was an assistant vice president. L’Esperance was director of human resources and Lariviere joined the helicopters division in July 2004 as vice president of finance.
