Nicholas “Niko” Yanouzas has been promoted to partner with Hartford independent accounting firm Whittlesey & Hadley P.C. Yanouzas has over 20 years in public accounting including “Big 4” firm experience. In addition, he served for four years as vice president of finance for a regional manufacturer. As an auditor, he is experienced in financial statement preparation and review for a variety of different entities, with particular expertise in the areas of real estate, nonprofits and closely-held businesses.

Patrick J. Troy joins Hartford Hospital as a pulmonologist, specializing in sleep disorders. In this role, he will treat common and complex sleep issues such as sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy and sleep walking. He moves from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he was a fellow in its sleep medicine program. Prior to that, he completed fellowships at Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Troy trained at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore through its residency and internship programs. He attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He sees patients in Hartford, Glastonbury and Wethersfield.

Loureiro Engineering Associates Inc. in Plainville has hired Samuel W. Butcher to manage its new office location in Rockford, Mass. He had been senior vice president of operations at a Massachusetts-based environmental consulting firm. He will be a vice president at Loureiro Engineering. His particular interest and expertise is in the cleanup and redevelopment of underutilized contaminated properties. Loureiro provides engineering, construction, environmental, energy and waste management services.

Nancy Weiner Anstey has been named the chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Central Regional Tourism District in Connecticut. She is the executive director of the Farmington Valley Visitors Association, a private, non-profit organization that focuses on the promotion of historic, natural and cultural tourism and economic vitality in an eight-town area of the Farmington River Valley. Based in Hartford, the Central Regional Tourism District manages tourism marketing for 65 cities and towns in the Greater Hartford/Connecticut River Valley and Greater New Haven regions.

Cashman + Katz Integrated Communications of Glastonbury has hired Melissa Bengtson Muszynski as a senior account executive. She has served as the community affairs specialist at Metropolitan District Commission, Hartford’s regional water and sewer utility company. Previously, Muszynski was a lobbyist for a Hartford-based government relations firm.

Danielle Geer has joined Mason Inc. as media planner with the Bethany marketing communications firm. She comes to Mason with four years of experience as a media planner for Touch Point Integrated Communications in Darien. Geer will be responsible for media planning for Mason clients including Yale-New Haven Hospital, Hospital for Special Care and Acadia Insurance.

Paul McCurdy has been elected chair of the international law firm of Kelley Drye & Warren LLP. McCurdy is resident in the firm’s Stamford office. He joined Kelley Drye in 1987 and was elected to the executive committee in 2006. In addition to his new role, he will remain chair of the firm’s broker-dealer practice group, representing retail, clearing, direct access and advisory firms in regulatory, enforcement, compliance, corporate and litigation matters. He succeeds John M. Callagy, the firm’s first chair who has served in that role since 1992.

Industrial wholesaler Atlantic Fasteners has named Bruce Bonzey its director of quality. He has worked at manufacturers Barry Controls, Standard Thomson and Cole Hersee, where he spent 10 years as director of quality. Also, Tony Orvis has joined the customer service staff of the firm’s industrial fastener division. Orvis, a former operations manager for a Connecticut fastener supplier, also has extensive background in sourcing fasteners and “c” items. The firm serves Connecticut from its West Springfield, Mass., office.

Michelle Fontaine has been named director of early childhood at Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford. She has worked at the Solomon Schechter Day School as general studies kindergarten teacher for 11years. Most recently, she also served as early childhood curriculum coordinator. She will assume her new role at the West Hartford school in August.
