Ronald J. Ostafin has joined Simsbury Bank as assistant treasurer and assistant operations officer. Prior to joining Simsbury Bank, Ostafin was vice president of retail services and security officer at Eastern Federal Bank and previously held management positions at other area community banks. He is a volunteer for the American Heart Association and a past volunteer with United Way and the American Cancer Society. Ostafin is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s of science degree in marketing.

Jenna M. Klimkoski joined the audit staff at Federman, Lally & Remis LLC, Farmington. Klimkoski was previously a staff accountant at Deloitte & Touche.

Richard H. Agins has joined the law firm of Sigman & Rochlin LLC as a partner. His practice will concentrate in the areas of consumer and corporate bankruptcy, debt restructuring, asset protection, immigration and construction law. Agins was formerly with the Hartford office of Bingham McCutchen LLP. Prior to practing law, he practiced as a CPA, CFO, and management consultant and was a principal of a Manhattan design and manufacturing firm.

AKRF, a leading environmental, planning and engineering firm in Willimantic, has announced that Dennis Goderre, ASLA, AICP, has joined the firm’s Connecticut office as technical director. Goderre will spearhead the expansion of AKRF’s planning and landscape architecture services throughout Connecticut and southern New England. Prior to joining AKRF, Goderre spent more than seven years with BL Companies Inc. and held the positions of principal and director of planning and landscape architecture.

Wael Sayej, MD, of West Hartford, has joined the Division of Digestive Diseases, Hepatology and Nutrition at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Sayej comes to Connecticut Children’s from Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo where he just completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. Sayej received his bachelor’s degree in biology and mathematics from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY. He received his medical degree from the Fatima College of Medicine in the Philippines, and he completed his pediatric residency at the UMDNJ—New Jersey Medical School.

Dr. Robert Siegel, medical oncologist at Hartford Hospital, has been elected to the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Medical Oncology Subspecialty Board. In this role, he will provide leadership to the ABIM in developing the policies, standards and requirements to obtain certification in medical oncology.
