Attorney Dennis Kerrigan received the Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) Young Lawyers Section (YLS) inaugural Alumnus Achievement Award. The award recognizes a former member of the Young Lawyers Section who has demonstrated exceptional service to the profession, achieved a high level of success in his or her career, and embodies the highest moral character and ethical standards, according to Proloy K. Das, current chair of the Young Lawyers Section. Kerrigan was a partner in Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP’s Hartford office and is now the chief legal officer for Zurich in North America.

Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, has named David Smith of Glastonbury managing director of its global Talent & Organization Performance practice. The practice is a group of skilled professionals that provides human resources, talent management and learning solutions that enable clients to improve the performance of their people, their organization and their business. Previously head of Accenture’s North America Talent & Organization Performance practice, Smith joined Accenture in 1989, and has more than twenty years experience in designing and developing talent and organization performance strategies and solutions for Fortune 500 companies.

Keiler & Company has named Stacey Sherwood to the position of assistant account manager. As such, Sherwood will serve in a management support role on behalf of aerospace and defense contractor, Lockheed Martin, Bethesda, Md. She will be responsible for working on the day-to-day account needs of Lockheed Martin’s Corporate, Aeronautics, Space Systems and Fire Control business areas. Prior to joining Keiler, Sherwood served in entry-level positions at Hartford Life, Avon, and WILI 98.3 FM radio, Willimantic.

RBC Wealth Management of Hartford has announced that Mark E. Monroe, financial consultant — private client group, has become a certified financial planner. CFP certification includes education, examination, experience and ethical requirements. The process focuses on major themes such as investments, retirement, insurance, income tax, and trust & estate planning.

MidState Medical Center announced that Barbara Kaplowe, director, Performance Outcomes, has become a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders. To obtain Fellow status, candidates must fulfill multiple requirements, including passing a comprehensive examination, meeting academic and experiential criteria, earning continuing education credits and demonstrating professional and community involvement. Only 7,500 healthcare executives across the country hold this distinction.
