Quinnipiac University in Hamden hired Mark Whiting as assistant professor of psychology. Whiting was formerly earning his doctorate in physiological psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Jessica Hynes also joined Quinnipiac University in Hamden as assistant professor of legal studies. Hynes was previously law professor and director of legal methods at Roger Williams University School of Law.
James K. Filan Jr. was hired as partner at Pepe & Hazard in Hartford. Filan had been assistant United States attorney for the district of Connecticut before joining the firm.
Amy Span Wergeles was appointed chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Intellectual Property section. Wergeles is counsel at Robinson & Cole in Hartford.
The Connecticut Business & Industry Association named Joseph Andrew Camille Vautour to head the Education Foundation’s “Project Opening Doors” program. Vautour most recently was superintendent of Rocky Hill public schools.
IPT in Hartford named A.J. Wasserstein to the board of directors. Wasserstein works with public and mid-market private investments at Oak Drive Capital.
Rensselaer at Hartford hired Gregory Sparzo as senior program manager and Michael Bozzi as program manager in the marketing department. Sparzo also is adjunct professor on the campus. Bozzi most recently was graduate programs manager at Kaplan Test Prep & Admissions.
The Jewish Community Foundation in West Hartford appointed Eleanor Neiditz Caplan and Andrew M. Schatz to the board of trustees. Caplan was a legislative and regulations specialist at the state of Connecticut’s Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities. Schatz is founder and partner of Schatz Nobel Izard.
