Georgia A. Sullivan of Southington has joined Polinsky, Siegel & Polinsky LLC of Hartford as a senior trial attorney. Prior to this position, Sullivan worked in the staff legal office of the Hartford Insurance Group handling a wide variety of legal matters specializing in complex and high exposure cases.
Mintz & Hoke Communications Group has added Sean de Luna as an account supervisor. In this new position, de Luna will be responsible for the DRS Technologies account and a variety of other account supervisory duties. Previously, de Luna spent four years, most recently as an account supervisor at Noble & Associates, in account service with Magnani Continuum Marketing, and with Slack Barshinger, all in Chicago.
Robyn Ligotti of Avon has been appointed as director of McLean Rehabilitation and Wellness. McLean Rehabilitation employs 44 therapists serving patients in its home care agency, post acute program, and outpatient and wellness services. Ligotti has 25 years of experience in adult/geriatric rehabilitation with 23 years at McLean in all rehab service lines as both a staff therapist and supervisor.
State Banking Commissioner Howard F. Pitkin has reorganized his department’s legal division to respond more efficiently to new financial environment in the state and the nation. Gayle Fierer, formally banking supervising administrative attorney, will serve as counsel to the commissioner. She has been asked to tackle changes to Connecticut’s banking statutes.
Standard-Knapp in Portland announces two major promotions and one new hire: Mike Weaver has been promoted to the position of president and co-CEO; Robert Reynolds has been promoted to the position of chief operating officer and co-CEO; and Kevin Catherman has been hired as the company’s new national accounts manager. A 15-year veteran of Standard-Knapp, Weaver previously held the position of vice president of engineering. Reynolds has worked at Standard-Knapp since 1991 in the role of vice president of operations. Immediately prior to this position, Catherman worked at KHS USA, Inc. as strategic accounts manager.
Kelly Educational Staffing, a service line of Kelly Services, honored Kerry O’Connor with the 2007-2008 Substitute Teacher of the Year Award for his outstanding performance and exemplary service as a substitute teacher in the East Hartford Public Schools during the 2007-2008 school year. A resident of South Glastonbury, he has been a substitute teacher for Kelly Educational Staffing since 2005.
