MidState Medical Center announced that Dr. Howard Dubin, director of the hospitalist service, has been designated a fellow in Hospital Medicine by the Society of Hospital Medicine. To be designated as fellows, candidates must demonstrate their dedication to quality and process improvement, commitment to organizational teamwork and leadership, as well as a passion for lifelong learning and education.

Zihai Li, M.D., Ph.D., of Woodbridge has been inducted into the American Society for Clinical Investigation. The ASCI is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected medical honor societies. It comprises more than 2,800 physician-scientists from all medical specialties elected to the society for their outstanding records of scholarly achievement in biomedical research.

The Connecticut Lodging Association has selected Ginny Kozlowski as the new executive director. Under a contractual agreement with the Greater New Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau, the CLA will look to further their successful initiatives and create new programs to address these challenging times for lodging owners and managers. Kozlowski was named president of the Greater New Haven Convention and Visitors Bureau in October 2007, having previously worked at the bureau in a variety of capacities since 1993.

Okay Industries Inc., a precision metal stamping company in New Britain serving the medical device, automotive, firearms/defense, and specialty industrial markets, has promoted Jason M. Howey from vice president to executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Joseph D. Colwick has joined TD Insurance, Inc. as an account executive based in Wethersfield. He is responsible for employee benefits sales to business customers throughout Connecticut. Colwick has 13 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining TD Insurance, he worked as a senior underwriting consultant at Aetna Inc. in Hartford.

Shipman & Goodwin partner Sheila Huddleston was recently appointed editor-in-chief of Connecticut Supreme Court History, the Journal of the Connecticut Supreme Court Historical Society, and was elected to serve on the society’s board of directors. Huddleston practices in the areas of civil and criminal appeals and complex civil litigation. She is a frequent speaker on appellate practice and procedure and on legal ethics.

Michael G. Albano has joined Hartford’s MacDermid, Reynolds & Glissman P.C., as a member of its real estate litigation team. His practice encompasses a full array of civil and commercial litigation in all courts including lease and guaranty enforcement, eviction, collection and defense, as well as loan workouts, foreclosure, and contract disputes. He currently serves as the board chair of TheaterWorks in Hartford.
