Quinnipiac University inducted Mark Bertolini, president of Aetna, into its Business Leader Hall of Fame at a black-tie ceremony at the New Haven Lawn Club. Bertolini oversees all businesses and service operations across Aetna’s various health care products. At Aetna, he previously served as executive vice president, head of Aetna business operations and head of Aetna regional businesses, which included Aetna’s individual, retiree, small group and middle market segments, and numerous product, network and service areas. The Business Leader Hall of Fame recognizes business people who have made significant contributions to their business and industry through leadership.

Kristina Zack of Prudential Connecticut Realty’s Enfield office has been named one of the 50 finalists in Realtor magazine’s 2009 “30 Under 30” list, announced Candace Adams, president of the company. Each June, Realtor magazine features 30 rising young stars in the real estate industry. The association looks for candidates who are successful in the real estate business and have demonstrated ingenuity and creativity in their careers.

Hartford teacher Christine Tocionis has been selected by the National Civic League as a winner of the 2009 MetLife Foundation Ambassadors In Education award. Tocionis was one of only 25 winners selected for leadership in building bridges between local schools and communities and will receive a $5,000 grant for her school at a local award ceremony. As a literacy teacher at Richard J. Kinsella Magnet School of the Arts, Tocionis encourages her students to take an active role in community improvement efforts and places a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability.

Officials of Saslow Lufkin & Buggy LLP, a regional certified public accounting firm with offices in Avon and Burlington, VT announced the promotion of Daniel J. Kusaila to tax partner.

Diamond Belejack, MidState Medical Center’s manager of volunteer services, was honored at the United Way of Meriden & Wallingford’s Community Awards Celebration as an “Outstanding Campaign Coordinator” for her hard work and dedication to the Live United campaign. The Live United Campaign inspires hope and creates opportunities through collaborative efforts that support a variety of charitable causes.

Horton International LLC announced that Bob Nesbit has joined as managing director in the firm’s West Hartford and New York offices. He specializes in executive-level search engagements in human resources as well as general management roles in a variety of industries. His most recent corporate role was at USI Holdings, a Goldman Sachs Capital Partner portfolio company, where he was senior vice president, chief human resources officer, and a member of the executive leadership team.

Jaime Waldman Seltzer, of West Hartford, has joined the Arthritis Foundation, Northern and Southern New England Chapter, as chief development officer. Seltzer joins the Arthritis Foundation with 30 years of experience in non-profit development. She spent 29 years with the Jewish Federation of Greater Hartford, most recently as director of financial resource development.

Matthew R. Cutri has joined TD Banknorth as a vice president in the commercial lending department in Glastonbury. In his role as a middle market lender, he is responsible for originating middle market financing opportunities directly through companies, private equity firms and financial intermediaries throughout the region. Prior to joining TD Banknorth, Cutri served as a senior vice president at FirstLight Financial.
