The following appointments were made at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital in Hartford: Kathryn Lohmann-Ruszczyk, director of admissions and marketing; Maura Murray, director of nursing; and Stephen Rowan, nurse manager.

Dr. Thomas Brunell was appointed director of emergency medicine education at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. Previously, he was associate residency director of the emergency medicine residency program at Baystate Medical Center. Also, Dr. Scott J. Ellner joined the hospital’s medical and dental staff.

Vertex in New Britain hired the following people as senior insurance systems analysts: Lynn Gastia, Jim Fuhrmann, Kevin Vibert and Christofer Jacobsen. Maria Schawiak, Mark Futtner, Rick Alarez, Marie Jacob, Susan Awad and Ann Laframboise were named insurance business analysts. And Carol Doyle joined as senior staff recruiter.

Rob Miller joined Conning Asset Management in Hartford as senior sales executive. Previously Miller was head of insurance business development at Dwight Asset Management.

Kosovsky, Pratesi & Co. in Farmington appointed Henry V. Paradis staff accountant; Cristina DeHippolytis administrative assistant and Daniel R. Kaufman manager of the accounting department.

Sharon Ritchey was named senior vice president and chief operating officer of The Hartford’s U.S. Wealth Management Group in Simsbury. Ritchey has been with The Hartford for eight years.

Avon-based Mintz & Hoke named Meaghan Shanley account coordinator. Previously, Shanley worked in the University of Connecticut’s Health Center office of communications.

John Turgeon was appointed director of professional development at Kostin, Rufkess & Co. in Farmington. Previosly, Turgeon was at PricewaterhouseCoopers for more than 20 years.

Glastonbury-based Cronin & Co. made the following appointments: Tracy Klimkoski, senior media panner/buyer; Jodi Ciarleglio, traffic manager; Nick Koutsopoulos, assistant media planner/buyer; and Laura Melenkivitz, media planner/buyer.

Russell Phillips & Associates in Plainville named Joe Beadle fire and emergency management consultant. Previously, Beadle was a fire marshall and fire chief in Winsted.
