James M. Blazar has joined Hartford Healthcare and Hartford Hospital as senior vice president and chief strategy officer. In this capacity, he will oversee five Hartford Healthcare organizations located throughout the state, as well as planning and marketing efforts for Hartford Hospital and Hartford Healthcare.
Harrington Engineering, Inc. of Rocky Hill announced the appointment of Todd McLeod as vice president of the company’s newly formed energy services group dedicated to cooling heat and power and renewable energy solutions. McLeod has more than 21 years of experience working at United Technologies Corp.
Christine Finck, MD, of Glastonbury has been named as the associate director of the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Finck joined Connecticut Children’s in 2007 and most recently served as the associate director for academic affairs for the Department of Pediatric Surgical Sub-specialties. Prior to joining Connecticut Children’s, Finck was on the surgical staff at Saint Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.
Jeff Mullaly has been promoted from controller to chief financial officer of Cronin and Company LLC. Mullaly joined the company in September of 1997 as controller.
Barnum Financial Group has announced that Jonathan Medina has joined the firm as a financial services representative working out of the Wethersfield office.
Ron Schlossberg, owner and president of Advance Communications Inc. in Farmington announced that Kathleen Freeman, of Newington, has joined the firm as director of sales and business development. Freeman previously served as a real estate agent with Prudential CT Realty.
The First National Bank of Suffield has announced that Susan Thorner has been promoted to vice president. Thorner has been with the bank for 20 years. She manages the main office in Suffield and oversees regulatory compliance for the bank. She also currently serves on the Suffield Economic Development Commission and is a co-president of the Suffield Ambulance Board of Trustees.
Gov. M. Jodi Rell has nominated the Hon. Bethany J. Alvord, of West Hartford, for a seat on the state Appellate Court. Alvord, 51, has been a Superior Court judge in Waterbury since 2002. Prior to that, she served as a family support magistrate in the state Judicial Branch for three years.
