Evelyn Gleeson, M.B., B.Ch., of Granby, has joined the Medical and Dental Staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Gleeson received her medical degree from the School of Medicine of University College Cork, Cork, Ireland. She served as an intern and senior house officer in internal medicine at Mercy University Hospital, Cork, Ireland, and a senior house officer in internal medicine at University College Hospital Galway, Galway, Ireland. Dr. Gleeson also served as an intern in internal medicine and a resident in neurology at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and a fellow in neuromuscular medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
Community Mental Health Affiliates vice president of child and family services Debora Kustron was one of 13 health care professionals honored by the Connecticut’s Women’s Hall of Fame at the Hartford Marriott. The 16th Annual Induction Ceremony & Celebration recognized women in health care: practitioners, providers and policymakers. Dr. Kustron has dedicated her professional skills as a psychologist to the needs of children, adolescents and their families. A published author and public presenter, she is a fellow and board member of the Connecticut Psychological Association.
Hartford Hospital’s Helen & Harry Gray Cancer Center welcomed David P. Eisenberg as a surgical oncologist. In this capacity, he provides surgical care for patients with breast cancer, skin cancer (including melanoma), sarcomas (tumors of soft tissue origin), intra-abdominal tumors and gastrointestinal malignancies. He offers medical oncology and radiation oncology consultations when appropriate, providing multidisciplinary cancer care. He joins Hartford Hospital after completing a clinical fellowship in surgical oncology with a focus on minimally-invasive cancer surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
MidState Medical Center announced that Fred Tilden, medical director of the emergency department, has received The Phil Stent Award from the Connecticut Chapter of the College of Emergency Physicians. This recognition is awarded annually and honors a physician who exemplifies professional attitude and who has made contributions to further emergency medicine in the state of Connecticut.
