BlumShapiro, the largest accounting, tax and business consulting firm located in Connecticut, has hired Susan Weston as the firm’s chief talent officer. Weston comes to BlumShapiro with more than 20 years of experience in human resources and leadership development, including working at United Technologies Corp. and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Prior to joining BlumShapiro, Weston served as manager of finance leadership development at UTC, where she managed all leadership initiatives for global finance.

Bernard Mussman, owner of Bernard Mussman Associates LLC, a commercial and industrial real estate company, was re-elected to a three-year term on the Bay Path College Board of Trustees. The Farmington resident has served as a trustee since 2000.

The Mark Twain House & Museum has chosen Beth Miller as the museum’s new director of development in this the Mark Twain Centennial Year. Miller, who lives in Wallingford, comes to the museum from development director of the Hartford Youth Scholars Foundation, where she had worked since 2006.

Marino has well established roots in the Connecticut legal community in sales marketing and management, having spent a sizable portion of her career as continuing legal education director/bar services administrator for the Hartford County Bar Association. Marino was also associated with UHY Advisor’s Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services Group.

Lisa A. Fraleigh of Farmington has joined the medical staff of Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Fraleigh received her degree in osteopathic medicine from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, Biddeford, Maine. She most recently served as an assistant professor of psychiatry in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut Health Center — School of Medicine.

Gov. M. Jodi Rell has appointed Pat Racz of Avon as a member of the board of governors of the Hartford Hospital Corp. The board of governors provides advice and counsel to the hospital’s board of directors and management. Racz is managing director of West Hartford-based executive search company Horton International LLC.

Certified public accounting firm Guilmartin, DiPiro & Sokolowski LLC of Middletown has promoted Christopher Conley to manager. Conley joined GDS in 2005 after receiving his master’s degree in accounting and taxation from the University of Hartford and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Central Connecticut State University.
