The state will have help defending its new campaign finance rules from the
Brennan Center for Justice
at New York University’s School of Law, according to a ruling in U.S. District Court in Hartford. The Brennan Center will represent Common Cause Connecticut and Connecticut Citizens Action Group in fighting a lawsuit brought by the Association of Connecticut lobbyists and the American Civil Liberties Union claiming that the law unduly hampers third parties in raising money and infringes on free speech.
