The Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut, which owns the Mohegan Sun casino, said it has formed a joint venture with a New York-based office software and equipment distributor.
Mohegan and Leslie Digital Imaging have named their joint venture Kôta, which Mohegan said translates to “close association.”
The venture plans to pursue government and commercial markets, which LDI believes are underserved.
“This opportunity is the fourth to be announced by the Tribe since May and reflects our tribe’s commitment to its non-gaming business diversification strategy and job creation in the region,” Chairman Kevin Brown “Red Eagle” said in a statement.
LDI offers copier, scanner, printing, document workflow and visual communications software, equipment and services.
Kôta has received certification from the Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council, Mohegan said.
