Mohegan Sun to debut new sportsbook Thursday

Mohegan Sun will have a soft opening for its new, 11,000-square-foot sportsbook on Thursday.

The space, developed and operated in conjunction with gaming partner FanDuel, features a 140-foot video wall, over 30 additional flatscreen televisions, live teller windows, 36 betting kiosks, a mezzanine and a full bar. It was set up in the casino’s old Race Book area, and still includes race betting.

The sportsbook is offering special betting promotions now through Sunday, when the Super Bowl takes place, according to casino officials.

Mohegan Sun President and General Manager Jeff Hamilton said a grand opening is planned for March 5.

Mohegan Sun has been offering in-person sports betting since September at its Bow & Arrow Sports Bar, as work continued on the new, expanded gambling space. Visitors can now cast their bets at either location.
