Mohegan Sun slot revenues dip slightly

The operators of Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun casino say slot machine profits in April were down less than 1 percent from the same month in 2009, The Associated Press reports.

Foxwoods Resort Casino and MGM Grand at Foxwoods, however, reported a more notable dip: about 9.1 percent less slot revenue than in April 2009.

Mohegan Sun, which is run by the Mohegan tribe, took in $63.7 million in slot machine profits in April, about 0.09 percent lower than in April 2009. The Mashantucket Pequot Tribe, which runs Foxwoods, reported that its April slot revenue was $52.3 million.

The tribes pay the state 25 percent of their slot machine profits every month under their gaming compacts. The Mashantucket Pequots paid $13.9 million in April and the Mohegans paid $16.4 million.
