Mohegan Sun said it has submitted its application to New York regulators for a casino license, along with 16 other gaming hopefuls.
Regulators in New York are expected to choose as many as two casinos for each of three identified regions, including the Catskills and Hudson Valley, where Mohegan wants to build at the former Concord Resort Hotel in the community of Thompson.
Mohegan partnered with the Cappelli Organization, which owns the 140-acre property.
Mohegan said its proposal calls for 252 hotel rooms, performance venues, 52,000 square feet of casino space, and retail and nightlife amenities.
With nine applicants, the Catskills region is the most competitive. Mohegan is up against Caesars Entertainment, Empire Resorts and others.
