Mohegan Sun in Uncasville has signed a new vice president of player development, away from rival MGM Resorts International.
David Luber will help Mohegan Sun cultivate relationships with new players in his role as vice president of player development for new markets.
Luber comes to Mohegan from MGM Resorts International, where he developed and maintained relationships with casino guests at all MGM International properties.
Mohegan and MGM are competing head-to-head for the sole resort casino license in western Massachusetts. MGM wants to build a casino in Springfield while Mohegan is pushing a Palmer site. The license is expected to be awarded in April.
Luber is a former Division I college basketball player, having attended Florida International University, acting as spokesman for the Student Athletic Association Committee.
