Uncasville-based Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE) announced a C-suite shakeup, with Mario Kontomerkos leaving as CEO, Ray Pineault stepping up as interim CEO and Carol Anderson hired as CFO.
Pineault served as COO at MGE before being promoted to the top spot. Anderson is a new hire who previously served as senior vice president at Scientific Games Corp., a Las Vegas company that makes casino, interactive and instant lottery games.
In an announcement of the staffing changes Mohegan Tribe Chairman James Gessner Jr. said outgoing CEO Kontomerkos played a key role in MGE’s growth. He said Pinault will lead the company on an interim basis, as MGE searches for a new CEO.
“Ray has served his Tribe for over two decades in various roles and capacities, and we look forward to his continued guidance and experience as we search for a new corporate leader,” Gessner said.
Pineault has over 20 years of experience with MGE, and stepped into the CPP role last July. He also served as regional president at MGE and president and general manager of the flagship Mohegan Sun in Uncasville.
