Mohegan books second slot-revenue increase of 2015

Mohegan Sun reported a 6 percent increase in its April slot-machine revenue — its second year-over-year uptick of 2015.

Slot revenue for the month was $49.5 million, up from $46.7 million in April 2014. The amount wagered in its machines, called “the handle,” grew from $571.2 million to $584.6 million. The Montville casino will pay the state $12.4 million in taxes for the month, up from $11.8 million.

Meanwhile, Foxwoods said its slot revenue fell 2.8 percent in April.

The Ledyard casino reported slots revenue of $38.7 million, down from $39.8 million in April 2014.

The handle decreased by nearly $22 million, or 4.3 percent, to $486 million.

Foxwoods will pay $10.2 million in taxes on its slots win for the month, down from $10.8 million a year prior.
