Mission Foods, a producer of tortillas and other food products, has signed a lease for about 20,000 square feet at 850 Prospect Hill Road in Windsor and plans to open a distribution center at the site this month.
Eric Blumenthal, an associate director with commercial real estate services firm Newmark, said the facility will serve as a last-mile distribution point to support deliveries throughout the region.
Blumenthal and Newmark Executive Managing Director Art Ross represented the property owner — New Jersey-based Vision Real Estate Partners. Ryan Collins of Ixim Real Estate represented Mission Foods.
Blumenthal said Mission signed the lease at market rates in December but declined to disclose additional terms.
Vision Real Estate Partners bought the 30,000-square-foot warehouse-style building on 4 acres for $1.8 million in early 2024. The space leased by Mission had been vacant for more than a year.
The remaining portion of the 23-year-old building is occupied by Windsor Ninja Academy.
Blumenthal said demand remains strong for industrial properties ranging from 20,000 to 40,000 square feet.
Windsor Economic Development Director Patrick McMahon said the town is pleased to see a recognized brand like Mission Foods occupy space in its Day Hill Corridor.
“We welcome their investment in the community and the jobs they bring to the facility,” McMahon said.
