Minn. women accused in $1.6M ING theft

Two Minneapolis women have been charged with fraud for allegedly stealing more than $1.6 million from Dutch global insurance giant ING, The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reports, citing the U.S. Attorney’s Office there.

ING has major retirement-services operations in Windsor.

Angela Patrice Madison, 41, and Tracy Dione Jackson, 42, each were charged with one count of mail fraud, prosecutors said in post on the paper’s homepage Monday. Each faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

The government alleges that Madison, who worked at ING from 2003 to March of this year, used ING’s computer system to create false requests from customers to cash in their life insurance policies. Madison allegedly created the requests in the names of Jackson and others. Jackson then deposited the checks and split the proceeds with Madison, prosecutors said.
