MidState Medical Center in Meriden receives $4.2M gift

MidState Medical Center in Meriden announced Tuesday it has received a $4.2 million donation — the largest in its history — to expand cancer care services and improve the patient experience.

The gift comes from the estate of Dante J. and Barbara Jeanne Molinary, longtime Meriden residents. Dante Molinary was an Army Air Corps veteran and builder, while Barbara Molinary spent three decades teaching in the Meriden school system.

Hospital officials said the money will be used to expand the hospital’s Oncology Infusion Suite, increasing its capacity while enhancing comfort for patients.

The expansion will allow more patients in the Meriden area to receive care closer to home, reducing the need to travel for oncology services, hospital officials said.
