The smart grid technology enables users to see how exactly they are using energy in their home and business, and then control that usage to save money.

Several utility companies including Norwich Public Utilities and Connecticut Light & Power are undertaking smart grid products.

Founded in 1998, Nxegen provides a variety of energy conservation and load management services, including smart meter technology.
