Using $1 million in clinical workforce development funding from the federal government, Middletown’s Community Health Center Inc. said it will help more than 1,000 health centers implement training programs for pre-professional and post-graduate providers.
Over the next two years, CHC will provide training related to post-graduate nurse practitioner residency programs, post-doctoral clinical psychology residency programs, and implementing a team-based model of care.
CHC said it established the first nurse practitioner residency training program in the country in 2007.
The grant program, run by the U.S. Centers for Health and Human Services, begins next month.
