A 620-megawatt power plant in Middletown is operating under new ownership, according to the company who recently acquired it.
ArcLight Capital Partners, a middle-market infrastructure investment firm based in Boston, recently closed on the purchase of Kleen Energy Systems LLC, which operates a 620-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant at 1349 River Road, Middletown. ArcLight purchased Kleen from parent company Sojitz Corp. of America for an undisclosed price.
The Middletown power plant was completed in July 2011 and is considered one of New England’s newest natural gas combined-cycle power plants, according to ArcLight.
Officials from ArcLight said the Kleen power plant benefits from “stable cash flows under a capacity supply agreement with Connecticut Light & Power.”
Latham & Watkins LLP served as legal counsel to ArcLight for the deal.
