Middletown’s Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons, PC, has joined Spire Orthopedic Partners, a Greenwich-based management services organization for orthopedic and spine surgeons, Spire announced Tuesday.
The addition of the Middletown group and Orthopaedic Surgical Associates of Chelmsford, Mass., expands Spire’s reach, said Spire CEO Dr. Tim Corvino.
“These partnerships represent significant growth for our organization and solidify our regional footprint that now stretches from Long Island in the New York City area through Connecticut to the greater Boston area,” Corvino said.
Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons (MOS) is the third practice to join forces with Spire in Connecticut and the second in Middletown. Orthopedic Associates of Middletown partnered with Spire in 2021.
MOS consists of eight surgeons and 85 employees who accommodate 55,000 patient visits annually in general orthopedics and sports medicine, joint replacement, hand surgery, foot and ankle surgery, spine surgery, diagnostic imaging and rehabilitation.
MOS Partner Dr. Jeffrey A. Bash said, “Aligning with the esteemed physicians of Spire’s affiliated practices enables Middlesex Orthopedic Surgeons to continue to accelerate our growth trajectory.”
Spire launched as a management services organization in February of 2021 with partnership between Orthopaedic & Neurosurgery Specialists of Greenwich and Orthopaedic Associates of Manhasset, N.Y. The network now supports 70 physicians, 600 employees and 14 locations in the Northeast.
