Middletown firm’s $82M loan to finance 60 solar projects

Middletown solar installer Greenskies Renewable Energy said it has closed an $82 million deal to finance more than 60 commercial solar projects in Connecticut and three other states.

Greenskies, which has been headquartered in Middletown since 2010, said the projects will generate a total of 26 megawatts of electricity.

The financier is Rabobank, a Dutch multinational company that has been in the clean energy arena since 2009, according to Greenskies.

Greenskies did not disclose what projects would be financed, but said they would also be located in Massachusetts, New York and New Jersey.
