Middletown Tree Planting Fund is partnering with local vendors to encourage residents to sign up for the Home Energy Solutions program.
Vendors will donate $25 to the fund for every Middletown resident that sings up for an HES assessment before Oct. 31.
HES, provided by Connecticut Light & Power and United Illuminating, supplies utility-authorized energy specialists who come to residences to install energy-efficient products and perform weatherization services.
The cost for the Home Energy Solutions service is $75 for homes heated with electricity or natural gas, $99 for homes heated with fuel oil and propane, and is free for those who meet income eligibility guidelines.
