Our Mission: By cultivating leadership and partnerships, bringing resources together, and investing in our community, Middlesex United Way acts as a catalyst to achieve measurable, positive impact in education, financial stability, health and housing.
We are community partners: Middlesex United Way supports 38 of the most capable local organizations achieving measurable impact in the areas of education, financial stability, health and housing.
We keep things local: We utilize the talents of local volunteers to help us make local decisions that benefit local people resulting in local successes.
We are funders: We campaign to raise funds, and strategically disburse to the most capable and local organizations in need. Last year, our nonprofit partners used our funding to obtain $662,234 in additional funds. This means that every dollar given last year doubled in return.
Goals
• Children are ready to learn by school entry
• Children are reading at grade level by the end of 3rd grade
• Individuals and families access services and resources for their behavioral, physical, and oral health needs
• Youth and adults refrain from substance abuse and other risky and unhealthy behaviors
• Individuals are meaningfully employed
• Individuals and families have safe, affordable, and stable housing
Giving Opportunities
We partner with hundreds of local businesses through employee campaigns, corporate giving and sponsorships. Through our Corporate Sponsorship program, businesses can provide Middlesex United Way with a single donation as low as $1,000 that will be used to support United Way’s special events and marketing efforts.
Individuals can also give online anytime.
Volunteer Opportunities
United Way is a volunteer-driven organization, utilizing over 800 volunteers annually. Committees include the Board, Finance and Investment Committees, the Community Impact Council and Community Impact Teams, which are responsible for funding decisions in four focus areas. Other opportunities include volunteering with our Young Leaders Society or Women’s Initiative Affinity Groups.
Additional volunteer opportunities include various food, toy, and book drives. We can arrange group volunteer opportunities for employers.
