A Danbury-based investment group has purchased a 17,742-square-foot medical office building in Middlebury for $1.64 million, according to land records.
The property at 687 Straits Turnpike was purchased by Porting Group LLC, which is controlled by Jorge Sousa and Jose P. Boa, who both list Danbury business addresses in state records.
The Porting Group secured a $1.25 million loan for the purchase through a mortgage with Danbury-based Union Savings Bank.
The seller, 270 Center Street LLC, is controlled by Frank Vozzo, who lists a Weston business address. Vozzo purchased the property for $2 million in November 2015, according to town property records. Vozzo is also principal of The Vopa Group, a construction services firm that lists the Middlebury property as its headquarters.
O,R&L Commercial brokers Toby Brimberg and Sam Crampton represented the seller, while Clearview Realty represented the buyer. O,R&L said it leased a 1,252-square-foot suite in the building to Sky Meadow Counseling earlier this year, increasing occupancy to 59% before the sale.
The building, constructed in 1990, contains 17,742 square feet of medical and office space on 1.8 acres along Route 63 near Interstate 84.
