Anne Ruwet, CEO of CCARC, Inc., describes Michael Carrier as epitomizing the importance of family and volunteer service.
His parents, Al and Julia Carrier, helped found CCARC in 1952. Michael Carrier grew up helping care for his sister Denise, who has a developmental disability, and volunteering for CCARC throughout his youth. In 1996, he joined CCARC’s board of directors.
Among Carrier’s most significant achievements, according to Ruwet, has been his leadership in CCARC’s capital campaign, which culminated in 2004 with the opening of CCARC’s own facility to educate and train the population it serves.
He continues to provide countless hours of leadership and support as board president and as founder of CCARC Foundation, Inc.
