MGM Grand at Foxwoods will use the upcoming weekend Kenny Rogers concert as a springboard for producing entertainment and events for live television broadcast.
MGM Grand said Monday it has a multi-year deal with fledgling Locomotive Distribution to produce three live events for TV broadcast.
The deal includes international broadcast and DVD video rights. Terms were not disclosed.
The Kenny Rogers concert Saturday at the 4,000-seat MGM Grand Theatre will feature live performances by Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Alison Krauss, Wynonna, Sheena Easton, Better Than Ezra, and the Oak Ridge Boys. Taped performances will include Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker.Â
The second event will center around hosting baseball’s Gold Glove Awards, Major League Baseball’s version of ESPN’s star-studded “ESPY” awards, officials said.
Details about the proposed third event were not disclosed.
