Mfg. group: Keep electric rates competitive

The Manufacturing Alliance of Connecticut, a trade group that represents over 300 Connecticut manufacturers, has sent a letter to every member of the General Assembly urging them to keep the Nutmeg State’s electricity market deregulated. The group said many of its members have been able to aggregate their electric demands and buy power from suppliers at more competitive rates. The letter urges lawmakers to oppose any bill that would “take choice away” from its members. The letter comes amid growing dissatisfaction by some legislators and members of the public with the rising cost of electricity in the state.
