Mexico gets three Sikorsky Black Hawks

The U.S. has delivered three Sikorsky Aircraft UH-60M Black Hawks to the Mexican government for law enforcement.

Stratford-based Sikorsky said the helicopters, equipped with infrared cameras for night operations, are the first of six the U.S.  State Department promised Mexico as part of the Merida Initiative, a security pact between the two countries.

The price tag was not disclosed.

The three expand the Mexican Federal Police’s existing fleet of seven Black Hawks in use since 2008.
