The MetroHartford Alliance Independent Expenditure Committee released candidates’ responses to its 2016 legislative questionnaire.
Brandon McGee, Democratic candidate in the state House’s 5th District race, for instance, provided detailed responses to questions that included what to do to grow Connecticut’s economy.
“Continue working with groups like MHA, business community, community stakeholders and identifying successful models used by other states,” McGee stated, answering the latter question.
An initiative of the MetroHartford Alliance, the committee developed the questionnaire with the goal of highlighting key issues facing the state and the capital region. Two dozen candidates for the state House of Representatives and state Senate from across Greater Hartford completed the questionnaire.
The committee’s goal “is to raise the profile of critical issues impacting the state and region, especially with respect to the attraction and retention of private sector jobs and increased capital investment,” said Oz Griebel, president and CEO of MetroHartford Alliance and committee chairman.
The committee is not endorsing nor supporting or opposing candidates. To view candidates’ responses, visit the MHA website.
