Meredith raises dividend, chairman quits

Media and marketing company Meredith Corp., operator of WFSB Channel 3 in Rocky Hill, raised its regular quarterly dividend by half a penny to 23 cents.

Meredith, whose titles include Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies’ Home Journal, will pay the dividend on March 15 to shareholders of record Feb. 26.

The Des Moines, Iowa, company also announced that William T. Kerr has resigned as chairman and named President and CEO Stephen M. Lacy as his successor.

Kerr will remain a board member, the media and marketing company said. No reason given in a statement for his resignation as chairman.

Lacy, a board member since 2004, has served as CEO since 2006.

Meredith, whose titles include Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies’ Home Journal, also appointed Dianna Meredith Frazier as vice chairman. She has been a board member since 2000. (AP)
