Representatives from St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, The Connecticut Joint Replacement Institute and Woodland Anesthesia Associates recently joined forces in volunteering their services in support of Operation Walk USA, which provides total joint replacement surgeries free-of-charge for needy individuals who suffer from arthritis. Patients were identified for the program with assistance from the Malta House of Care. Institute surgeons performed three of the nearly 50 surgeries performed nationwide on Dec. 2 and 3.
