Medical marijuana on track for late summer

Medical marijuana should be available to qualifying patients and caregivers by late summer or early fall, the state’s Department of Consumer Protection said.

DCP said drug inspectors have visited the state’s six licensed dispensaries several times to ensure each is on track to open once four separately licensed producers have grown the product.

Marijuana prices will be set by the market, not the state, and patients certified by a physician will be permitted to purchase as much as 2.5 ounces per month.
