Medical center opens new location in Hamden

The Hospital for Special Surgery, an academic medical center focused on musculoskeletal health, is expanding into Hamden.

It opened a new office recently at 2080 Whitney Ave., Suite 280, where its physicians will provide sports medicine and spine-related care.

Two orthopedic surgeons, Theodore A. Blaine, MD, and Steven J. McAnany, MD, will work out of the new Hamden location. The pair will split their time between this new office and HSS’ Stamford offices.

Blaine is a sports medicine surgeon who practiced in Hamden before joining HSS in 2019. McAnany is a spine surgeon who focuses on degenerative spine conditions and minimally invasive surgery. 

Hamden is HSS’s second physician office in Connecticut. HSS also has locations in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Colorado.
