The third MedExpress Urgent Care in Connecticut is opening today in Middletown, 752 Washington St.
The other two, which opened last summer, are in Derby and Meriden. All clinics are open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
The Middletown center will care for people of all ages, providing urgent care, employer health services and basic wellness and prevention services. Walk-in treatment is available for everyday illness and injury – including treatment for common winter ailments such as colds, flu, ear infections, upper respiratory infections, bronchitis and strep throat – as well as more advanced services including X-rays, IVs, labs, minor surgery, stitches and treatment for broken bones, sprains and strains.
The new center will offer free sports physicals to patients ages 5 and up until March 13.
MedExpress, in partnership with Optum, has nearly 250 centers in 19 states. UnitedHealth Group’s Optum division acquired MedExpress in 2015.
