The Connecticut State Medical Society Independent Practice Association has named Milford resident Neysa Guerino as its new executive director.
Guerino takes over leadership of the 7,000-member statewide independent practice association following the departure of Ken Lalime, who has been named the CEO of HealthyCT, a newly formed nonprofit health plan.
Guerino joins the CSMS-IPA from the Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut, where as executive director, she oversaw all operations and management for the non-profit organization for 14 years.
In that role she served thousands of older adults and individuals with disabilities. Guerino, who is a social worker by trade, also sits on a number of non-profit boards and state committees.
Guerino will begin her new role Jan. 1.
